ABOUT TRASH CHICKEN
Hi, I'm Jacob McDermott—graphic artist and photographer behind Trash Chicken. What started as a personal project in 2019 during my graphic design studies at San Diego State University quickly evolved into something much bigger. Originally conceived as a skateboard design, Trash Chicken grew into an artistic exploration of the gritty and unconventional.
At its core, Trash Chicken blends the raw energy of graphic design with the powerful storytelling of photography. The brand’s world revolves around two central characters: Trash, a Plague Doctor-like figure who represents the chaotic and decaying nature of our surroundings, and Mr. Cluck, his loyal chicken sidekick. Together, they navigate a world defined by trash—both literal and metaphorical—capturing the beauty in the mess.
Through my photography and design, I want to share the world as I see it. The goal of Trash Chicken is to fuse bold visuals and storytelling, inviting you to dive into a universe where even the most overlooked scenes have a story to tell.
Welcome to the world of Trash Chicken. Let’s see things differently.
