Firefly LOGO DESIGN – OVERVIEW

In this client project, I designed multiple branded logos for Firefly, a program within Lightfully Behavioral Health™, which provides holistic mental health care. Firefly represents guidance, resilience, and transformation for adolescent clients at their Encinitas location.

The Design Direction

The early exploration focused on sports-inspired typography and imagery. A custom bold font contrasted the Lightfully logo, while mascot logos, geometric emblems, and a firefly motif added movement through a dynamic “light trail.” The sketches I drew above showcase this process.

ColOr Palette

The color scheme builds on Lightfully’s existing palette for a seamless visual connection. I emphasized dark blue for consistency, legibility, and trust, while incorporating vibrant accents for contrast and energy to appeal to a younger audience.

LOGO Rational

The Firefly Team logos are versatile, engaging, and highly legible, using gradients and geometric shapes to appeal to a younger audience. Rooted in teamwork and sportsmanship, they symbolize unity, resilience, and growth.

ILluminatinG The Way

Each logo variation ensures flexibility across applications while maintaining a strong, recognizable brand. The Firefly icon symbolizes hope, resilience, and transformation, shining through darkness as a beacon of growth, guidance, and self-discovery.
